Job Brief

The Integration Process team is responsible for optimizing our ReRAM, resulting from development, to bring them to a level of industrial excellence.
As a Process Engineer, you will manage the transfer of processes from the R&D site to customer equipment and production environments. You will perform data analysis and problem-solving related to technology transfer, conduct process research activities, and collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to enhance process quality and performance within a dynamic R&D environment. You will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the art equipment within CEA’s labs and clean room. We are seeking an applicant skilled and detail-oriented able to interact smoothly with customers and strong problem-solving abilities.

Job Description

  • Supporting Technology Transfer from R&D to Customer Sites (65%)
    • Perform process transfer activities from R&D to production sites, including deposited film characterization (XRR, XRD, AFM, SIMS, XPS, 4-point probe, etc.), data analysis, and interpretation of process-performance correlations
    • Document, standardize, and communicate Process of Record (POR), recipes, and work instructions
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process compatibility, tool and recipe matching, and yield excursions
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and customer engineering
    • Implement continuous improvement based on feedback and production outcomes
    • Create and maintain technical documentation for experiments, including experiment workflows and detailed setup information in relevant systems
    • Logistic support of process transfer activities from R&D to foundries
  • Process Analysis and Process Problems Solving (20%)
    • Define the sequence of manufacturing stages and selection of technological variants, control and analysis of the conformity of the various stages during manufacture
    • Assist in analysing current processes and identifying areas for improvement in device performance and quality. Provide support with materials and in-line characterization data analysis, as well as experimentation and analysis of advanced processes
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams engineers to address and resolve process-related challenges
    • Supporting activities in clean room, including characterization measurements, results analysis and next steps decision taking; interaction with tool engineers
  • Research and Development (15%)
    • Work closely with CEA R&D process engineers, and external partners manufacturers
    • Participate in the development of new processes
    • Design and execute experiments to evaluate process feasibility and performance
    • Design experiment characterization wafers and activities

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields

Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in semiconductor industry and at least 3 years of experience in technology transfer from R&D to production sites required
  • Experienced in customer’s relationships and in a cross-cultural environment
  • Strong analytical, technical writing and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in statistical analysis and process control tools (e.g., JMP, Origin)
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor fabrication equipment and process modules
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel to production sites and customer fabs as needed (up to twice a year)
  • Experience working at CEA-LETI cleanroom and with CEA systems is an advantage
  • Experience with characterization activities in clean room, including metrology and defect analysis tools is an advantage
